General FAQ

Here at Vow you will find a large range of Morning Suits, Edwardian Frock Coats, Lounge and Dinner Suits of the utmost quality.  To complement your suits you will find an extensive collection of waistcoats, cravats, ties and handkerchiefs.  Everybody else says it, but we mean it when we say we will give you excellent customer service!

All we need is the postcode and we can arrange for your groomsmen to be measured at our associate retailers.

Most of our suits can fit boys from age 2 upwards.  This means that anyone in your family or from your group of friends can have a key role in your big day!

We would suggest that any member of your party who wants to come in for a re-measure three weeks before the date of the wedding.  That way you can be sure that everyone who needs it has had a recent fitting.  We definitely recommend it for children but we’ve also seen some grooms lose weight before the wedding!

We suggest you bring in a swatch of material or something similar so that we can see immediately what the best match is.  Of course if you haven’t yet finally decided on your exact shade then please pop in because seeing what we’ve got an early stage in your planning can be advantageous – the price of a hired cravat and the price of a specially made colour matched cravat can be very different!

Generally, your wedding suits will be ready by mid-afternoon of the Tuesday before your Saturday wedding.  Other wedding days will obviously differ slightly.

Your suits will have been checked for quality and correct sizing against your order.  All will be presented in suit bags individually named for each member of your party. You should also expect to pay the remainder of your balance!

Your suits will be the size that you ordered and agreed.  To minimise the risk of sizes changing we would suggest that your party come in for a re-measure three weeks before the arrival of your suits (as previously stated).  If however, you or a member of your party wants something changing to the agreed size on the order we can arrange for a replacement to be delivered in 24 hours.  Please note there will be a replacement fee of £5 per item plus an overall delivery charge of £15.

Yes, for an additional fee you suits can be delivered to any UK address, whether that be your home, work or wedding venue.  Please note we cannot guarantee an exact delivery time, so someone needs to be available to sign for suits on their arrival, and we obviously don’t get to check through the suits and bag them individually so it’s not necessarily an attractive option!  It’s usually only viable if you live quite far away and need to try on before the wedding.  If you live locally and have a problem with collection we can deliver to you where previously agreed.

All our suits are covered by accidental damage in the price of your hire.  Please note accidental damage means exactly what it says and covers you for accidental wine or food spillage but not an all-out food fight!

During the summer your suits should be returned to the Vow Bridal Gallery between 10:30 & 11:00 on the Monday morning following your wedding.  If these times are unsuitable other arrangements can be made.  Out of season suits can be returned on Tuesday’s.  For those of you staying at the Haycock Hotel you are able to leave your suits with reception on your departure.

Extended hire can be particularly helpful if you are not getting married locally or you are getting married abroad.  Extended hire is available at an additional 50% of our normal hire rates.

Cancellations

We understand that in certain instances you may have to cancel your appointment with us. We don’t charge for your appointment and we won’t judge you for cancelling so all we ask is that you please let us know as soon as you can so that we can offer the appointment to another excited bride. Time is precious, with appointments very much sought after, so if you no longer want to visit then please give us the opportunity to help someone else instead…
